WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I COME TO SEE YOU?

HOW DO WE CHOOSE THE MODEL OF THERAPY THAT`S RIGHT FOR ME?

When you first come to see me I'll take time getting to know you. It's important for me to understand the difficulties your experiencing and how they developed. We will then talk together about the model of therapy that's the best fit for you and agree on a course of treatment. My goal is to is to help you achieve your goals.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Each therapy session is approximately 50 minutes in length. You can expect to meet weekly. We will review how your week has been and discuss skills acquisition and changes you might wish to make.

HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT TO BE IN THERAPY?

The overall time spent in therapy is very individual to your goals.The average lenght of psychotherapy tends to be 12-16 sessions and brief psychotherapy can be 6-8 sessions. The lenght of therapy will vary depending on the issues you wish to address. 

Each model of therapy has a proven track record and research that shows that it works. This is what we call evidence based treatment. There is most likely more than one model that could fit for the difficulties you're experiencing. We would choose one based on your personality and goals.
